Choose the Office That Holds the Answer
- Current county custody: search the official inmate locator by name or inmate number. If a recent, released, transferred, or unavailable listing needs clarification, use the jail-information line above.
- Booking records or a possible booking image: use Sheriff Central Records or the Ingham County FOIA Center. Ask the custodian whether the particular record exists and is disclosable.
- Mason-area criminal or traffic court matters: contact the 55th District Court at (517) 676-8400, or its Criminal Division at (517) 676-8405.
- Felony court records: the 30th Circuit Court can be reached at (517) 483-6500. For charging questions, the Ingham County Prosecuting Attorney is listed at (517) 483-6108.
- State prison, parole, or probation supervision: use the Michigan Department of Corrections’ OTIS Offender Search. OTIS is not a county-jail roster.
The home guide explains the difference between a current jail listing, a city arrest record, a court disposition, and state custody. A booking allegation is not a conviction, and court records provide the later case outcome.
